Laura's Story: From Fence Sitter to One and Done

I interview Laura for the second episode of the podcast

Hi all,

I hope everyone has been having a good holiday season! I had a lot of things come up for me with my daughter’s second holiday season and am excited to share in the next month.

Currently I am taking a week off (away from my child) for the first time since she was born. I am sure I will have things to say about that when I return.

In the meantime, I am excited to bring you the second episode of the Fence Sitter podcast. These episodes are for paid subscribers only. I interview fellow Fence Sitters who “got off the fence” and either decided to have a child.. or not and how they got to that decision.

This month, I bring you Laura, who shares about her experience and how she ultimately chose to have one child. Laura shares her experiences growing up with a clear expectation of having children, the shift in her perspective as she navigated her career and personal life, and the unexpected journey of getting pregnant quickly after deciding to have a child.

We discuss the complexities of pregnancy, the realities of postpartum life, and the societal pressures surrounding parenting, especially regarding having siblings. Laura emphasizes the importance of self-actualization through motherhood and the joy of raising an only child, while also providing advice for those uncertain about their own parenting decisions.

Laura, like myself, is a proud one and done parent so anyone who is considering this or has one child will love this episode.

The Fence Sitter podcast continues to bring you authentic conversations with real individuals who were unsure about having kids and finally made their choice— one way or another. These podcast episodes are available for paid subscribers only.
